My Community Rationale: The ambassadors will get to know their own Jewish community Goals: 1. Ambassadors will define “Jewish community” and who is part of the Jewish community. 2. Ambassadors will explain similarities and differences between people in the community (survey). 3. Ambassadors will define their own roles in the Jewish community: past, present, and future. Part of Lesson Madrich Time Materials Opening Brainstorm – write “Jewish community” on board and have kids think of what this means for them. Organizations? People? Etc. 10min Board, markers Body Divide into 2 groups with 1 madrich leading each group. Discuss family survey within group and define similarities and differences. Ask ambassadors to define their own roles in the community: first past, then present, finally the future. 15min 10min Card with Questions to ask Conclusion Get back into one group and recap what the kids decided were the main components of a Jewish community and their specific roles in the future of the community. 5min להורדת קובץ הפעילות: My Community- lesson plan.doc
